Pamorelin LA 11.25 mg contains Triptorelin, a substance akin to a hormone known as gonadotropin releasing hormone (an analogue of GnRH). This formulation is designed for long-lasting effects, gradually releasing 11.25 mg of Triptorelin over a period of three months (twelve weeks). Pamorelin LA helps decrease the levels of testosterone, the male hormone, within the body.

Pamorelin LA 11.25 mg is utilized for treating locally advanced, hormone-sensitive prostate cancer, either by itself or in conjunction with radiation therapy. It is also applicable for hormone-dependent prostate cancer that has metastasized to other regions of the body. It does not constitute a cure. Various forms of prostate cancer rely on testosterone for growth and proliferation. Pamorelin LA functions by diminishing the production of testosterone in the body, which aids in slowing down or halting the progression of cancer cells and alleviating symptoms like painful or difficult urination. Additionally, Pamorelin LA may be prescribed for certain uterine disorders (endometriosis). In women, this treatment reduces the body’s estrogen production. Pamorelin LA can also be used to delay the onset of early puberty in children.

Pamorelin LA is administered as an injection into the muscle of the buttocks by a healthcare provider, typically once every three months (12 weeks) or as prescribed by your physician. Adhere to the dosing schedule strictly to maximize the benefits of Pamorelin LA. To help with your schedule, consider marking your calendar for your next dose. In the initial weeks of treatment, you may experience an increase in testosterone levels before they begin to decrease. This is a normal physiological response to the medication. This initial effect may lead to the emergence or intensification of symptoms during the first few weeks. If you have prostate cancer that has advanced to the spine or has caused urinary blockages, your doctor may need to monitor you more closely, particularly at the beginning of treatment. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any severe side effects, such as bone pain, tingling/numbness/weakness in the arms or legs, blood in your urine, or painful/difficult urination. Notify your doctor if your condition does not improve or worsens.

As with all medications, Pamorelin LA 11.25 mg may lead to side effects, though not everyone experiences them. Very common side effects (affecting more than 1 in 10 patients) include hot flashes, weakness, excessive sweating, back pain, and a pins-and-needles sensation in the legs. Common side effects (affecting more than 1 in 100 patients) include nausea, fatigue, redness, bruising and/or pain at the injection site, muscle and bone discomfort, pain in the arms and legs, edema (fluid accumulation in body tissues), dizziness, headaches, impotence, and reduced libido.
